Pacific Sunrise
The moment you are welcomed aboard Pacific Sunrise you will feel as though you have stepped back in time to a traditional boutique hotel where high levels of service, low guest numbers and an atmosphere of distinction were the norm. At 33 metres, Pacific Sunrise offers a boutique floating hotel boasting 3 separate deck levels, only 8 guest suites, a maximum of 17 guests and minimum of 4 crew. Book early to secure the largest air-conditioned sailing vessel suites in the Whitsundays with accompanying finely appointed ensuites. You will be booking the specific room by name to ensure the comfort level that you desire. Amongst the finely crafted timbers of this fully renovated traditional vessel, our fully functional galley, licensed bar and dining room with seating for all passengers, provides areas for meeting and socialising with other guests. Meanwhile our various secluded balconies and deck levels enable guests to find their own private space to enjoy the view of the beautiful Whitsunday Islands in restful peace while relaxing. Pacific Sunrise will carry you on a journey amongst the natural beauty of the mostly uninhabited, heritage listed Whitsunday Islands region of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park for snorkelling, swimming and interacting with marine life. There is also bushwalking and visits to the likes of Whitehaven Beach and other perfect locations amongst our beautiful 74 islands of the Whitsundays.

Her History
Pacific Sunrise was built in 1979 by Charles Whippy & Co in Suva Fiji, launched 1981 as a cargo vessel, she was the 5th and largest of this design built and the only one still sailing also being the largest and last timber boat of this size built in the South Pacific in the 50 years prior to construction. Initially spending a few years in the capacity of island trader taking small cargo from island to island in Fiji, she was then taken to the States to be sold in 1983 where the vessel featured in both movies and television series during this time. In 1987 the vessel was sailed to Vanuatu where she spent some years as a private boat before sailing her to New Zealand where she was sold to a company who put her back into commercial survey. Once complete, she was relocated to Tonga working as a charter vessel around the northern islands. She was then returned to New Zealand where after some time she was the sold to Whitsunday Coral Cruises. An extensive 12 month refit was undertaken in New Zealand before sailing her back to The Whitsundays to commence cruises around the islands & reef.
